Welcome to the Preservation Scoreboard, a joint venture of the Alabama Historical Commission, the Alabama Preservation Alliance and the University of West Alabama.

All across Alabama, individuals and groups are working to preserve the state's architectural heritage. At the same time, however, many historic buildings face threats due to neglect, sprawl, and unplanned or unwanted development. The Preservation Scoreboard highlights specific landmark rescues and success stories or "Wins," opportunities that are "In Play," and demolitions or "Losses" from around the state.

Geared toward accomplishments and failures, the scoreboard provides a means of tracking tangible (in other words, "bricks and mortar") preservation results.
