A volunteer is an individual who chooses to
participate in activities perceived by that person
to promote human welfare, human dignity, and social
justice when those activities are not the source of
one's livelihood…
The Commission welcomes volunteers in a variety of
positions, from docents at the Alabama State Capitol
to youth volunteers at Magnolia Grove in Greensboro,
to re-enactors at Fort Toulouse/Ft Jackson to avid
history buffs in any of our sections through the
state of Alabama.
The Commission feels that the presence of
volunteers makes a big difference in the commission
being able to carry out the mission of preserving,
protecting and sharing the history of Alabama. There
are opportunities for personal growth, for the sense
of belonging and building teamwork skills.
We invite you to look over the open positions
available now and complete the volunteer application
on-line.
You will be contacted by a staff member to further
investigate opportunities to make something
significant happen at the Alabama Historical
Commission.
